Jesse Jennings said, “When someone tells you how your wrong thinking manifested your problems, wish them well. Then get far away from them.” We are equipped with a most wonderful, internal navigation system. When things don’t go the way we hoped, we know there is an underlying belief that requires our attention through prayer and/or other support. What an awesome system we have….we all have. Jennings also said, “There is one God or source energy, everywhere and always active. We all share in its characteristics, one of which is creating outcomes from within itself. This is what makes each of us a co-creator, who are creating outcomes from within ourselves, which we do by uniting thought with feeling or managing consciousness.” This is what I call the New Thought belief system. We are at cause!!!
This also can result intentionally or by default. Jennings reminds us, “Such a world view is meant to feel lofty and empowering and, given the right perspective, it is. But it’s anything but that whenever we give or get a metaphysical shaming over something created and caused that has seemed to go wrong.” We should always remember to never shame ourselves or others when things go differently. We don’t actually create, we discover and use the Law. Only God/Mind/Law, etc, creates…..we just use it. We have a creative nature that we all have and use. Only Spirit creates.
Jennings also draws a contrast between religion-the traditional sort with a creator who needs to be obeyed and adored-and metaphysical religion. Metaphysical religion seeks to picture the Creator not as a being, but as essential beingness, with the creative impulse widespread throughout creation especially in us. He believed, “We’re each here to have a unique and non-transferrable experience. Even if I grasp what you’re ssaying, I am not the one saying it. Even when I take delight in how your ways vary from my own, I can never completely wrap my mind around what it means to be you. Shared experience never fully occurs.”
Have you ever been frustrated, mad, or impatient with others when they don’t see your perspective (no matter how right you know you are)? And of course we make judgments and assumptions because of it, right? Could this be the right time to just listen to others and drop our need to be right and know what is best? Who out there can fully know the factors involved at the level of cause for another person? When we do this, we may actually discover our own underlying beliefs and use the opportunity to look at ourselves honestly.
However, we still must remember our life is our own and our experience is our own business. In essence we can only know ourselves.
The idea that people believe they will be punished for their sins is unfortunate. New thought has grown past this belief but the problem is we can never judge others for their beliefs. Jennings says, “When someone is hurting, my duty as a fellow human is to help any way I can.” What they thought is none of our business. We can only know ourselves.
So, being a co-creator is our God given title carrying a great responsibility. We all can remember we carry the qualities of Spirit being unconditional love giving words and acts of kindness to whomever it is required. May we never forget to see the possibilities of goodness only according to our own consciousness.
And that my friends is one terrific way to begin 2020.
